On November 20th, 2022 angler Catherine Jones captured an 11 pound, 3 ounce Speckled Trout (Spotted Seatrout) in Pungo Creek, Norther Carolina. This fish ate a live menhaden and was captured after a 15 minute battle. If certified, this fish will set the new IGFA Women's 20lb line class record for the species! The International Game Fish Association is the governing body for all line class and all tackle world records. This record is currently pending and under review.
